Bomber Girls,

Just wanted to say THANK YOU for the home made cookies!!  My crew and I were having a tough day here in Kandahar, Afghanistan, then I received your package of cookies and gifts.  The guys enjoyed all the cookies, but have to admit the peanut butter ones were inhaled!

There is still a heated debate going on about the two sided Harley Davidson poster you sent.  Some like the one biker lady displayed and some want the other!  Right now it's about 50/50 on which side to display.  LOL!!

Again, thank you for brightening our day!

Best Regards,

Hey

Just wanted to say thank you for the boxes ya'll have sent me.  I have really enjoyed the things that were in them.  Just got the last box ya'll sent me, full of cookies, they were a hit around the office.  We will be leaving here in March and the last time we could get boxes was this week.  I was writing to let ya'll know there is no need to send anymore boxes.  We will be arriving in Ft. Stewart on March 25 or 26.  Would love to see ya'll there in support of all the soldiers coming in.  We will arrive at Hunter Air Field then travel to Stewart shortly after that.

Thank you again for all the support.

Dear Bomber Girls,

I just received your care package today. My buddies and I loved all the snacks and little toys in there. I'm not sure where you got my name from; but I'm pretty sure my sister Sherry had something to do with it. Either way, it was a great surprise, so thank you again. By the way, I'm a Blackhawk Pilot in the Army and your Bomber Girls sticker is on my flight helmet now. However the other pilots are jealous that they didn't get stickers too haha.

Organizations like yours make being in Iraq matter to us. Just knowing people like you care enough to send us packages really touch us. If there's anything I can ever do you the Bomber Girls please let me know.

Hi Ladies,

Thank you for the box of goodies.  It was a lot of fun going through the items.  Allowed us to be silly for a bit and enjoy some sweets that we don't usually see out here.  I had to fight for the Pop Rocks, others tried to take them from me.  You ask how long I will be out here til.  Well I'm here for a year, got here in June and will Leave in June 2010.  Don't feel bad for me, I actually volunteered for this.

Thanks again,

Shanon, "Sunshine"

Dear Bomber Girls,

First and foremost, I would like to thank you for everything you sent to my team and I.  The tat magazines have been looked at quite frequently by everyone, and I must say the whole topless bike chick one was a treat.  All of the useful items have been, well, useful to say the least.  I thoroughly enjoy reading, and I'm going to try and read every book sent on these long nights and days out here.  Trust me, we do have some lengthy times.  It's just as they say, you're either doing something to risk your life, or you're bored off of your ass.  We spend many a night playing poker, or just talking about what our plans are for when we get home.  Personally I'm getting married, hopefully find a house somewhere, get my band started back up  Also maybe a new tattoo.  That's about my only plans as of yet.  But again, thanks to all who contributed to the packages, and thanks for all your support back in the states.  Also thank you Shanon, you'll meet H*** soon enough, but I'm sure you'll approve.

Sincerely,

Cody Cox

Memorandum for Bomber Girls, LRC, Savannah, GA

Subject: Letter of Appreciation

1.  First of all, let me thank you for your care package.  The items you sent were definitely needed and a pleasant surprise.  I don't think we expected the "Bubba Teeth" or whoopee cushions.  LOL.  It means so much to me and the Soldiers of this battalion when the good folks back home take the time to think of us while we are deployed.  We would like a Bomber Girls bumper sticker or decal to display in our "Tiki Hut" cigar lounge here at Camp Phoenix.

2.  Just a little about our mission.  Since we deployed here, we immediately became involved in the mentoring of the Afghan Army and police.  Our teams are called Embedded Training Teams (ETTs) for the Afghan National Army (ANA) and Police Mentor Teams (PMTs) for the Afghan Police.  The Soldiers in the battalion mentor the Afghans in all parts of the Kabul province of Afghanistan.

3.  I will end this by saying that time is passing very quickly, and we look forward to returning home next March.  Thank you for all your well wishes and prayers, and we APPRECIATE you!

4.  Keep the shiny side up, and the rubber side down!
